Helping Your Young Person Navigate Post-16 Choices
5th November 2026 7-8pm
For some young people, thinking about life after Year 11 is exciting. For others, it can feel overwhelming. For many, the answer to “What do you want to do next?” is simply… “I don’t know.”
As parents and carers, we want to support our young people to make good decisions and feel confident about their future. But it can be hard to know what to say when they’re unsure of their options, worried about getting it wrong, or don’t know what they want to do next.
Join Us
This Parent Hub webinar will explore the different pathways available after Year 11, including sixth form, college, apprenticeships and other routes. More importantly, we’ll think about how parents can support their young person through this important stage without feeling they have to have all the answers.
Together we’ll explore:
- The range of options available after Year 11
- What to do when your young person isn’t sure what they want to do next
- How to have positive conversations about the future without adding pressure
- How to guide and support decision-making while encouraging independence
- The practical steps, timelines and resources that can help families navigate post-16 choices
As parents, we often feel pressure to help our children make the right choices, even when we’re not entirely sure what those choices are ourselves.
This webinar isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about helping parents and carers feel better equipped, more informed and more confident in supporting their young person through an important stage of life. Whether your young person has a clear direction in mind or is still working out what comes next, we hope you’ll leave with practical insights, reassurance and the confidence to keep having those important conversations.
We’d love you to join us.
